How a sweet tradition is lifting spirits in Pennsylvania, one shake at a time.
For our St. Mary Home Care and Hospice patients in Pennsylvania, love comes in many forms. For Bucky, a hospice patient with a heart full of compassion, it comes in the form of a Chick-fil-A milkshake.
Bucky knows what it’s like to go through a tough time. During one of his own difficult moments, someone brought him a milkshake – a simple gesture that made a big impact. Inspired by that kindness, Bucky began a tradition of delivering Chick-fil-A shakes to others who were struggling, hoping to pass along the comfort he once received.
But when Bucky’s health made it impossible for him to continue the deliveries himself, our hospice team stepped in. They knew this tradition wasn’t just about milkshakes; it was about connection, hope, and love.
With support from Bucky’s church and the generous team at Chick-fil-A in Newtown, Pennsylvania, who donated 75 free shake coupons, Bucky’s mission lives on. Now, each shake is delivered with a handwritten card, spreading warmth and encouragement to those who need it most.
Recently, our hospice team surprised Bucky and his family with the news.
His tradition will continue, even while he’s at home. It was a moment filled with joy, gratitude, and the kind of love that defines our care.
At Trinity Health At Home, we believe in honoring what matters most to our patients. Every day, our hospice teams go above and beyond, providing personalized support for our patients and their families.
